Dandoy x WWF: an Abestiary to protect biodiversity

Once upon a time, 27 creatures celebrating the living world.

From 27 February to 30 April 2026, Maison Dandoy and WWF-Belgium are joining forces to raise funds for the protection and restoration of nature.

What's in store: our new “Animots”, biscuits shaped like letters in vanilla Speculoos and animals in brownie-style chocolate, as delicious as they are meaningful. An illustrated book featuring 27 creatures: real ones, imaginary ones, and some sadly endangered. Creations designed to spark wonder and raise awareness, for young and old, about the importance of protecting the living world.

What better time to celebrate nature than spring?

As the days grow longer, nature awakens, and the first buds appear, Maison Dandoy wanted to mark this season of renewal a little differently. Not just with biscuits and chocolate, but with purpose.

This year, we've partnered with WWF-Belgium for a unique collaboration: the Easter Abestiary. A project that blends artisanal craftsmanship, playful storytelling, and a real commitment to biodiversity.

From wonder comes the urge to protect.

The Easter Abestiary is an alphabet like no other. 26 letters. 27 animals. All brought to life by illustrator Christine Van Wassenhove.

Some are real, living in our Belgian rivers and forests: the otter, the wildcat, the lapwing. Some are endangered, counting on us to reclaim their territory: the lynx, the wolf, the brown bear. And some are imaginary, like the Zinneke, that cheeky, proud mutt from the streets of Brussels.

Each animal has its own story, told with curiosity and warmth, to inspire a deeper connection with the world around us. Because discovery sparks wonder. And wonder sparks action.

And to turn wonder into action, we've come up with three ways to support the cause:

Every cent counts for biodiversity.

L'Abestiaire de Pâques
A book of 27 illustrated animal portraits, told with humour and poetry. 100% of profits support WWF-Belgium's conservation programmes.

Thanks to the daily work of WWF-Belgium, the habitats of these animals are being preserved and restored. Every gesture, every biscuit, every page turned helps give them a future.

What do a biscuit house founded in 1829 and a global nature conservation organisation have in common?

More than you might think…

On one side, Maison Dandoy has been passing down artisanal craftsmanship for nearly 200 years. On the other, WWF-Belgium works every day to preserve nature and pass it on to future generations. Transmission, patience, a commitment to what lasts: both share the same vision. A legacy worth protecting, whether made of recipes or rivers, traditions or wildlife.

Supporting biodiversity is great. Doing it with biscuits? Even better.

Discover the “Animots”, a gourmet alphabet to devour from A to Z. Letters in vanilla Speculoos, paired with brownie-style chocolate animals, all for a good cause with 10% of sales going to WWF-Belgium (we'll say it again, because it matters).

And for the traditional Easter egg hunt? Our classics are back: eggs hidden under dark or milk chocolate, poules de Pâques, lapins couveurs... the whole gang is here, ready to be found (or not).

All these treats are available in our shops and online.

An hour in the dark, for a brighter future.

Oh, and one last thing, and not a small one: on 28 March 2026, we're switching everything off!

Let us explain. This year, Maison Dandoy is proud to be a partner of Earth Hour, the global event organised by WWF. The idea? Turn off the lights for one hour, all together, for the planet. Iconic monuments like the Atomium are joining in, so we're counting on you!
