Two new shortbread biscuits, for a more balanced yet equally gourmet world!

September rhymes with brand new biscuits! For the occasion, we have created a new duo: cocoa coffee and hazelnut dark chocolate. Just as crunchy and a little out of the ordinary...

The idea for this new season was to create a duo of cookies with a lower glycemic index using flour from sustainable agriculture. We were eager to extend the pleasure of biscuit-eating to those who care about what they eat. Why favour a low glycemic index(GI)? Because the higher the GI, the faster the food is assimilated by the body and the faster the feeling of hunger manifests itself. The lower the GI, the less fat is stored and the lower the risk of diabetes.

You already knew it: at Maison Dandoy, we're not the type to rest on our biscuits! For generations we have cultivated know-how that relentlessly inspires us to do better and to take into account your expectations and desires. We want to contribute to a more balanced yet equally gourmet world.

We have tested dozens of combinations of flavours and ingredients to finally find the perfect match for our new shortbread biscuits. Two new ingredients have therefore made their debut in our workshops: Kamut flour and coconut sugar. It’s thanks to them that we were able to reduce the overall glycemic index.

Coconut sugar does not come from the coconut but from the coconut flowers. The manufacture of coconut sugar is more sustainable than that of other sugars because it does not destroy anything: the flowers grow back continuously. Even better, it is richer in minerals, has a lower GI and brings a delicious caramelised note to the biscuit.

Kamut is a very old variety of wheat about which we don't hear much. However, kamut flour contains far more proteins and minerals than wheat flour, while containing less carbohydrates and gluten. It is generally far better tolerated by people who are sensitive to it. Last but not least, kamut is exclusively grown organically and adds a little nutty taste.

This new shortbread duo is already ready to set the rhythm of your day: cocoa coffee to wake up with a kick and hazelnut dark chocolate to soften your evening. They will be available from October 9th in all our boutiques and on our e-shop.
