Our first impact report: one biscuit at a time, towards a regenerative future
Since 1829, we’ve been crafting biscuits. Today, we’re choosing to craft the future, too.
This first impact report marks an important milestone for Maison Dandoy. It puts into words—and into data—what we’ve always carried within us: the conviction that a family business can—and must—play a role in building a fairer, more vibrant, more resilient world.
A milestone, not a finish line
These figures cover the 2023–2024 financial year. They are already out of date by the time we publish them, because we never stop evolving. But they lay the foundations for a rigorous steering of our ESG approach and will be essential for our B Corp recertification process. We are perfectly imperfect. And we fully own it.
From “doing less harm” to regenerating
At Maison Dandoy, we no longer want to simply reduce our impact. We want to actively contribute to repairing, restoring and regenerating the ecosystems—natural, social and economic—in which we operate.
That’s our strategic pivot: moving from a logic of minimisation to a regenerative ambition.
Three pillars to build the next 200 years
1. An environmental transition underway
- 14.1% of our flours now come from regenerative agriculture, in partnership with Farm for Good (2024)
- 25.8% of our raw materials are organic (2024)
- 100% of our eggs come from free-range hens (2024)
- 46.2% of our electricity consumption is renewable, including on-site production of 205,844 kWh (2024)
We’re working to reduce our carbon intensity and to transition our supply chain towards nature-friendly practices rooted in local sourcing.
2. A bold commitment to craftsmanship and local roots
- 82% of our suppliers are Belgian (2024)
- 70% are located within 80 km of our workshops (2024)
- 100 full-time equivalents carry our artisanal know-how every day (2024)
We actively support local initiatives in culture, social impact and education. Because a business can’t be sustainable if it isn’t rooted in its territory.
3. A collective transformation
This journey isn’t built in isolation. It brings together our teams (30% received at least 8 hours of training in 2024), our partners (25% of our suppliers are engaged in a CSR approach), and all of our stakeholders.
Our B2B customer satisfaction rate reaches 87%—proof that artisanal quality and sustainable commitment don’t stand in opposition, but strengthen each other.
Valuable support
This report was made possible thanks to the rigorous support of Smart2Circle, who helped us structure our ESG approach and lay the foundations for long-term steering. Their expertise was essential in turning convictions into measurable, actionable data.
B Corp: a certification, a commitment
This journey enabled us to obtain B Corp certification, validating our business model in service of the common good. It’s not an endpoint, but a renewed commitment.
One biscuit at a time
We move forward with humility, determination, and a constant desire to do better. Every gesture counts. Every handmade biscuit becomes an act of transmission, respect for living systems, and the patient building of a desirable future.
